Update from Coach Southall

Good afternoon!

I am sure that you all have read the UIL announcement (July 21st) about fall sports. There are still tons of moving parts but I am so thankful that we are getting the opportunity to have a season!

As of now, due to the Travis County Emergency Order we will begin September 8th. September 8th through 11th will be designated days for our 2 hour volleyball skills training session each day, any athlete looking to tryout for a team should attend. Tryouts will begin September 14th.

Our district is working very hard on a plan for LISD based off all the current information. I know they will make decisions centered around the best interest of our student-athletes.

When I receive more information and guidance, I am hoping to have more details in our schedule (who, dates, times, etc). Please understand that this is still a work in progress and a lot of things can change.

I’d like to host a zoom meeting next Thursday, July 30th, for all athletes and parents who’d like to attend, completely voluntary. I’ll hold it like a Q&A – I will answer questions to the best of my ability, again things are tentative right now and a lot of factors can change day to day. The purpose of this is to communicate to you guys whatever I can 🙂

6-6:30 PM All Incoming 10th & 11th graders

6:30-7 PM All Incoming Seniors

7-8 PM All Incoming 9th graders

Hope you are all happy, healthy, and eager for volleyball to return. Stay tuned for more information! Miss the girls and I am excited to get to work!
